Hi,

I am building my first store, installed version 1.5.3.1.
After installing I cannot see the products image in the store front or on the product page in admin. I am seeing a thumbnail image in a white box that has a clickable link.

These are the permissions I have set up for the following folders and files:

image folder 777
image cache 777
image data 777
image flags 777
image templates 777
image - no_image 664
config.php 777
index.php 664
admin folder 775

My host is 123-reg.co.uk

I would like to get my store up and running by Sunday but I am stuck here.

Regards,
Howardal

The website url is - howals.co.uk

As you will notice I have already started to do basic work on the website, then I logged into the demo on opencart website for reference only then I realised that the default sample product images where not displaying.

You are having error issue. I have seen this somewhere before. Did you install some module?

No I did not install any module, I did install Royal Mail Shipping extension, but I did not see any images when I installed opencart.

I did not pay attention to it then because I did not realise this was a problem until I looked at the opencart demo.

Try removing everything and do a clean installation? It's an issue with your files permission if i'm not wrong. Also, I have met with issues with corrupted files causing this too. But all in all, give it a try or hire someone to fix it for you :)

Hi guys, would you mind sharing your solution to this problem please?

After installing Opencart 1.5.3.1 on 123-Reg no images were visible on the Front end or the Admin of the site!
I know 123-Reg are rubbish but my client had already chosen them so I had no choice :-[

Thanks in advance
Warren

Can't get to your website. But I will generally say the problem is with the permission

After I installed a fresh new copy of Opencart 1.5.4 on a 123 Reg server there were no images displayed in the admin area or the shop front.

I had to set the permissions to 755 for :
image/cache/data/demo
image/data/demo
and all new folders inside the image folder!

For some bizarre reason 123 Reg defaults to 644 on new folders and I don't know how to change this so I have to set the permissions each time I create a new folder
