I am trying to use pay pal direct to take web payments. So right now i set up a sandbox testing account and entered all the API credentials to test the credit card processing. I keep getting the error "There is and error in the transaction, please enter a valid state in the billing address" Well there is already a valid billing address state entered and is showing on the page, yet i get this error. Any suggestions?

I get the same error. Does anyone get this error outside of sandbox?

thanks, that worked. But now I get "security header is invalid". Also where is the text for cheques/money orders? I searched for it but I can't seem to find it. I know it's in there. I want to change cheques to checks.

Hi,

Paypal Direct is only available to United States merchants.

I assume they actually enforce this by your paypal account details not the location of your web site so don't get any ideas about hosting your site in the US 8)

Cheers

I'm in the US and I get the same message (Paypal Direct with API credentials (login, password etc...): "Transaction can not be processed due to merchant configuration"). If anyone ever figures it out please post it.

I don't understand the solution to paypal direct wanting a state code. I have free checkout working, paypal working, but paypal direct keeps giving me the "invalid state" message. Is there a module or setting I'm missing that will force the 2 letter code instead of name?

I'm using OC1.3.0.

got it working... now I'm stuck with the invalid merchant error that is popping up in other posts. Can't afford paypal pro to make the direct work, so I guess i'll stay with paypal... :'(
