Is there a way to have an easier image uploader?

I'm managing a site with over 5000 products. Every time I upload a main image, or additional images, I need to:
1. Open manager
2. Click on correct folder
3. Click upload
4. Find image, and upload
5. Have the image manager refresh, and sometimes reload all of the images
6. Look for the image for that section
7. Rinse, repeat

What I'd like is to click on Upload, immediately select the image from my PC (and/or a URL?), and then upload it to a bulk folder that I don't need to look in. That would save a heck of a lot of time, and troubles.

Any ideas?

if you have 5000 images to upload you can use ftp to upload them all. here is a mod that will let you upload multiple images at once.

Thanks for the suggestion. I tried it out now, but it's just not what I need.

With 5,000 products, you are doing it a REALLY SLOW WAY! Why don't you use an import/export tool? It's about a thousand percent faster. It was just updated for 1.5.3.1 today.

Thanks for the suggestion, Merry, but I've gone that route before. While it works for general info, it's not really suitable for images.

The Multi Image Upload Manager works well. You can upload multiple images, drag and drop from your computer. You can also drag drop your product images to sort them. It also works on banners, uploading images, drag drop sort order, etc. One other nice feature is that after your images are uploaded, you just select all the images for that product, then right-click, click on Select for Product and they're all added at once. You can add 10 images to one product in just a couple of clicks. You can get the extension here: http://www.opencart.com/index.php?route ... on_id=6229. Support is free.
