Brands list not arranged alphabetically

the brands section which we see by clicking brands in the footer takes us to the page 'find your favorite brands'
though my most products are arranged alphabetically some are not.
for example: Brand name starting from letter B shows in the last even after brand 'Z'.
why is this so?? Help!

yes i had checked that but to no avail.. even tried with a fresh install of OC 1.5.1.3
problem persists
