Hi all,

How would I set up free shipping in the U.S. but charge a flat fee for outside of the U.S.? The issue is that I cannot exclude the U.S. Geo Zone in the "flat rate" section; so at checkout, my u.s. customers must ensure to select "free shipping" and to avoid "flat rate" shipping which includes a charge. How do I make it so that the flat rate charge option does not show up at checkout for my U.S. customers? Also, if I want to charge a flat rate, within the U.S., for express shipping, how would I set that up? The Opencart version is 1.5 1.3.

Any help would be tremendously appreciated.

Sincerely,
J

you may need something like these mods

only show free shipping if available

multi flat rate shipping settings

You *can* do this using the built in settings, you just need to create a geo zone that includes all countries except the U.S. Just takes a while to set up.

Issue solved.

Thank you Johnathan. I created a Geo Zone to exclude the U.S. It DID take a while, but it's ok. Btw, do you know how I can set a flat rate for express delivery? I don't want to seem like I'm asking too much, but I'm a total rookie here. Thanks again for the previous item.

Dirtboy, I appreciate you chiming in on this. I opted for Jonathan's option because I did not want to deal with FTP. I thank you for offering your help.

You can use the built in Weight Based Shipping for multiple flat rates. Just duplicate your geo zone and title it "Express Shipping", then set a single high rate like 999999:15.00.
