And now the photos do not show for categories on the main page.

1.5.2.2 is not officially released yet. Latest version is 1.5.2.1 + patch
Go to your site and I can see image under main menu linked to category. If that is not the image you mean, provide screenshot ar any additional information like error or vqmod log will be usefull.

at the top of the page is a category list in the centre top. I would like to have images for each category and again in sub categories etc
