Hmmm must be missing something its not doing that. The account is not being created either.philbydevil wrote:It's only at checkout success that you will see any changes. It should create an account and show the username and password.
It seems that the password isn't reset if a customer does have an account but uses guest checkout anyway. I tested this, with a new first name and old email address, and the password didn't change. This is good and how it should be for security.Did you test the situation in which a guest has an account, is nog logged but continues with the order through guest account with the same email address as his 'old' account? According to the topicstarter the password of the account linked to the used email address should get reset with a new pass. But this does not work also.
Also the last situation indicates a security risk. I can reset the password of another account by knowing the email address.
I heart cmd-f, cmd-c, cmd-v, cmd-z + vQmod.

Are you using an email address that isn't already registered as a customer? If not, then you probably won't see any changes. But it sounds like you probably are using an unregistered email address...Ozfarmer wrote:Hmmm must be missing something its not doing that. Yes that is the way it should be, but the openings post states otherwise.philbydevil wrote:It seems that the password isn't reset if a customer does have an account but uses guest checkout anyway. Also an unregistered order could be appended to a registered person. Not a problem if the store only has unregistered orders. But appending to registered accounts is kinda akward.
But how do you return a pass when a user has a account, is not logged en uses this email address in guest checkout as in your previous post?

Since the pass isn't reset(new) nor decrypted, what is it returning? [first_name] probably, which can also be not correct if the user has already changed his pass.

I'm not sure if the one found here does but Fido-X give me a copy that does.
It is one where No e-mail is send to the customer, the account just gets created.

[How to] BTW + Verzend + betaal setup.
When testing and checking out as a "guest " the process completes as it would do normally, except I receive an email message from the system as a user who has registered through the normal channels.
It suggests logging in using my email address and password, but I have no password as the system has generated the account and has not indicated any password. I have seen variants of OC that displays a page explaining to the guest that the account has been generated and displaying a system generated password.
Has anybody any idea what I'm missing here and how to achieve the correct auto registration process?
Regards
Mick
