How can I change it to take me back to the category's page, from where I added the last item in the basket instead of all the way back to the Index Page?

After adding the item/s in the shopping cart/basket, I view the basket; when I press the “Continue Shopping” button, it takes me back to the index page.

You could use something like
in the cart controller file.
The referer method is buggy as IE does not set referer.
