Google base and image subdomain

I have searched a few options and made a few changes but struggling to get google base working on a site.

Have made sure all file permissions are ok - was originally getting errors suggesting this was the problem, but now an internal server error. (Have already increased file size/time interval in php.ini) and suddenly wondered if having images in a subdomain could be the problem?

Has anyone else found this to be an issue?
