Hello
I am having some issues with my sitemap and I am not sure how to fix it, I have recently submitted my sitemap to google using webmaster tools. I then have checked the sitemap to find that none of the urls in the sitemap point to anything apart from product not found. Can anyone help with this?

Hi airsoft4you,
I had this problem and found that its because SEO url was turned on and the SEO keywords boxes on ALL products and categories were not filled in, either turn off SEO url option and delete and re-submit the sitemap or put in the SEO keywords in ALL products and categories. I deleted and re-submitted after filling in the keywords.

it is the '&'s - This is the correct way for entering ampersands in an XML document.
Is Google saying that all URLs you have submitted are 404's ?

Google webmaster tools says that no errors have been found in the sitemap, however when I try and visit the urls in the sitemap it produces a 404

That is as I said because of the converted ampersands.
Google will convert them back from & to & and the links will be fine.

I think you could be over analysing. Look at the dates of the 404. I have the same but the dates of the 404 errors are before i re-submitted the sitemap.
unless you delete the sitemap from google and re-submit it after a clear period it wont change overnight

I have deleted the sitemap and then resubmitted it using the webmaster tools and no luck.
How long does it take for the ampersands to change?

I submitted mine last month on the 26th it eventually found 466 after about 3 days and so far it has only indexed 251 of them so you need to be patient and forget it for now.
What I have read it wont go crawling over your site in one day as that could eat your bandwidth so it takes it slowly... someone said on a Google forum that it could take a year to fully index a site but I think that may of been a slight exaggeration.
