Resolved: UPS causes order to hang

Hi -

I'm helping someone get their OpenCart site running. I've encountered a mystery. UPS shipping was working yesterday, but they were telling me the shipping amounts were off by a few dollars. I was trying to troubleshoot that when I observed that UPS shipping stopped working completely, which causes the order to hang while it tries figure out shipping method. USPS does work when I disable UPS.

So, I'm wondering if the issue must be with the shipping account at UPS? Or is this something that could be due to a misconfiguration?

I wanted to add something here. When I disable USPS, the UPS extension does work. So, what on earth is causing the shipping /delivery method to fail to show up when I have both enabled? Very curious.

No prob. We are working on improving the bug alerting for things like this and hope to soon have the ability to auto-patch straight from the admin area.

Because Daniel tends to overlook such things. Both our OpenCart sites were down. When trying to get the UPS rates when UPS was down, the system froze. In fact, we could not even reenter the sites for several minutes as the resources dropped to almost zero. SQL errors too.

A simple thing like handling a UPS rate site that's down, and Daniel overlooked it.

No. It has nothing to do with this. It is a known bug in 1.5.1.3 and the fix is in the 1.5.1.3 bug thread in the first post. The bug was my fault and nobody elses.
