How to show all products on category.tpl with details?

Hi every one. I have a question regarding product page. As everybody know, when we click on the category/sub-category, we can see all the products listed. And then when we click on the product, it takes us to the product.tpl page and see all the details of that product. But I want something different. I want my customers to see all the products with details on a category.tpl page. So let say one category is seating. Seating has sub category name glider covers. So when customer clicks on glider cover, I want them to see all the available products with details. not just the product list. I never want to take customer to product.tpl page. I want to show them everything on category.tpl page.
So is it possible to do that? If so can any of you please guide me?

It would be possible, but I doubt anyone will guide you, because while it is possible it is not easy.

Thanks for the honest reply. I am going to work hard to make it happen. But still if anybody did it before please let me know.

Wouldn't an easy fix be to just change the limit to say 5000 or the largest number you would expect to find in any of your categories?
