Ability to change CSS settings from backend?

Hey guys,

Just wondering if we could somehow have more a CSS ability to change things from the backend?? Eg. what concrete5 has built in to change the template customizations?

How hard would this be to implement? Would be awesome for clients to be able to simply use a color palette to change the styling of some stuff

I think this would be a bad idea - sorry, no disrespect meant to your opinion.

The reason I think this is that OpenCart should not try to become a Web Development Application Framework or a WYSIWYG Design tool of any sort. All that is already supplied by many, many sources that specialise in those areas.

The backend should not be for the developer. It should be for the user(s) or shop manager(s) or administrator(s). The backend at the moment is beautiful, it is clean, clear and full of loverly touches that I have not seen in other packages.

Please don't fill up with lots and lots of functionality that 'might be useful'. I think the motto 'Less is More' is definitely true in this case.

The theme system works so well that you can easily set up copies of themes with various colour themes applied to the stylesheet. You could then have users swap templates via the backend :-)

I use concrete5 too for a non cart site but I think already the cart offers you the ability to switch your THEME which is basically what your talking about. As this great product gets into more developers hands and those setting them up for business use, I think more and more TEMPLETES will start to show up. Plus for me half the fun is creating a uniqe look on the front end for potential clients...

Just go into the themes images folder and open up the images, you will see quickly images that if edited will quickly give the site a whole new look. Then just save it as a new them by coping all the default information to a new folder and renaming it.... then you have your own custom look !!!
