I have OpenCart v1.4.9.4 installed with VqMod 1.0.8.

I cannot seem to figure out how to delete files from my system/cache folder. I have tried to use an FTP client to delete files. I have changed file permissions of the system/cache folder to 777. I have tried to change the file permissions of files in the system/cache folder to 777 and then try to delete the files. No luck.

Still not able to delete the files in the system/cache folder. I don't know what is going on? It is almost like OpenCart automatically immediately recreates files in the system/cache folder and OpenCart sets the file permissions of the files in the system/cache folder to 644.

I even tried setting my OpenCart website to Maintenance Mode and then try to delete the files in my system/cache folder. No luck. What am I missing? Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can delete the files in the system/cache folder?

This is most likely a host related issue as the cache files are generated by your website, and not you as the user, so you can't modify the permissions, etc.

I have this same issue with my host. I contacted them and they were able to do something about it, but it sounded to me like a one-time fix.

Contact your host and see what they say.

I heart cmd-f, cmd-c, cmd-v, cmd-z + vQmod.

yes this is a hosting issue, infact i noticed this issue a few weeks ago with a clients web host, they had disabled cetain permissions on ftp because they were working on maintinance on their servers, wait a few days, if the problem still persists, contact your host.

Download http://phpfm.sourceforge.net/ (the latest version)
Install this filemanager in your root and delete the files you wan't to get rid of.
(It removes all files owned by Apache)
Make sure to protect the filemanager with a password.

Not only that I personally would remove it after you are done with it. having a php file manager laying around in the root of your site is never a good idea.

once you have used file manager delete it, file manager is a good tool but it will end up getting your site hacked if you keep it on your server
