Well done.

Just to let everyone know that the Export/Import module works fine with this new Opencart release, too.

Export/Import Tool * SpamBot Buster * Unused Images Manager * Instant Option Price Calculator * Number Option * Google Tag Manager * Survey Plus * OpenTwig

How can you upgrade v1.2.6 easily to this new build?

It currently requires the PHP PEAR library. On most webhosts this is already pre-installed.

I could create a version of this module which doesn't rely on PEAR, by using the PHPExcel classes instead. The latter are quite big though (about 1.7 MB compressed size). PHPExcel has extracted all the dependent classes from the PEAR libraries and repacked them into its own package. It would have the following requirements:
  • PHP version 5.2 or higher
    PHP extension php_zip enabled
    PHP extension php_xml enabled
It supports a wider range of Excel formats:
  • Excel 2007 (spreadsheetML)
    BIFF8 (Excel 97 and higher)
    PHPExcel Serialized Spreadsheet
    CSV (Comma Separated Values)

Export/Import Tool * SpamBot Buster * Unused Images Manager * Instant Option Price Calculator * Number Option * Google Tag Manager * Survey Plus * OpenTwig

To Upgrade:
1. First off backup your site.
2. Download a backup of your database.
3. Delete the files in your hosting directory
4. Upload the files from the download.
5. Go through the install as normal.
6. Once the install is finished import the database you backed up.
7. Goto the image directory from the backup and copy all the image and upload to the image directory on your hosting.

There is only one db change. I add the field coupon_id to the orders table.

its fixed. it was already working.

if your ipn is not working you need to check your server to make sure it can accept the callback made by paypal. godaddy hosting normally has this problem.

only you having this problem!

At what point would you think OpenCart will have a FINAL release or would this instead be consider a ongoing project?

What I mean by this is a system that has a well debugged FINAL version with the ability to add future MODULES instead of a total file updates as this system evolves will be a great goal to get to. Alot of system work this way once a strong stable core is created.

With regards to your discussion around php-pear and excel classes. I vote for just updating the install.txt to advise that php-pear is required if you want to use the excel import/export feature and leave this disabled by default in the installation.

IMPORTANT NOTE:
When upgrading a site, and you are ready to IMPORT a backed up store file, remember to first go and add any tables in the SQL file that you may have added from any MODS in the past or your IMPORT file will crash and error with the missing sql file names.

In my case I forgot I had added some new fields in the sql file on a failed MOD attempt and never removed them, so now they are haunting me when I try to IMPORT a successsful backup into a new version of opencart !

Would it be easier to identify which files have changed since v1.26 and replace those instead of doing a complete reinstall?

In this case there were many files with many changes to consider. For those who may have done major modifications it may be the only way, but for the average user a quick update is quicker.

However, hopefully as the project evolves and matures, a SOLID CORE product will come out and maybe only have new MODULES to install such as payment gateways and shipping that won't be as major a change.

Which files has been modified? I tried the adaption and completition from 1.2.6 (mainly the language files). There are some dificulties concerning the db, the "terms of Private Policy" disappear after a while within the register dialog.

So if it's my VPS problem-please enable paypal in demo i want to see if it's really server problem. I want to make product of 0.01$ and pay for it and see if it's really works and that my vps is bad.

And if you cannot do that-can you even tell me the IPN url what i have to write to paypal..and don't tell that it's done automatically-ok i believe but i need that url..so to be sure :)
