but i try it with my opencart 1.4.9.3
when i click that manufacturer by all the result is same when i click my manufacturer by "apple" and another manufacturer
the product displayed is all the same ?
is something wrong ?

I'd just like to say a big thanks to cmerry and afwollis for this. I've just installed it on a 1.4.9.6 site and it works like a dream.
Now I'm gonna work out how to do the opposite and also filter products via category on a manufacturer page. Hopefully it won't be too much different!

I have problem. My version is 1.5.2.1 and I don't know how add this modul. When I copied xml file, opencart wrote error. I copied xml to vqmod folder. (Can I delete vqmode_opencart.xml or not?). And what shall I do with files from filtering_by_manufacturers.zip - only copy these files from this folder to originally folder and replace these two files or open f.e. catalog/controller/product/category.php and fill missing information from category.php (from filtering_by_manufacturer) to originally category.php?
