Hi All,

I am running OpenCart version 1.4.9.3. I uploaded my site to the server last night, but in doing so, the maintenance feature no longer works.

When i activate it in settings (whilst logged in as admin) and then view the store front, it still says 'site down for maintenance' instead of allowing me to see all my products in order to view changes as i make them.

I've seen a few posts on this on the internet, but nothing tried so far has resolved the issue.

Can anyone suggest a solution?

Many thanks in advance.

It is working properly. If you are logged into the admin you still see the site. It's built that way so that you can look at any changes you make, but a customer who is not logged in sees down for maintenance. When I go to the site I see down for maintenance. If you close your browser out then return to the frontend of the site without first loggin into the admin you will see it too.

I'll bet it is because of the custom theme.

I thought that too (and deleted cookies, cache) etc, but no change.

I had the same shop online during test on a sub-doman and it worked perfectly fine.

ie:

I log in as admin, make a site change and can see it when i click a product.

I have the same problem, but it's since I installed SSL. So it must be related to something that was changed in one of the config files?

It will be like this is you try to use Shared SSL because of cookies, but shared SSL wont work by default in OC anyway.

Yep thanks, I read a few more threads and realised that must be the case. My web host insists that it should, however much I tell them that people on here just haven't been able to make it work, and in fact they are doing a test install to see if they can make it work from their end.

Interestingly, I did find that using the shared SSL seemed to work OK when I switched off the "SEO friendly URLs" setting...
