Well that doesn't help much. I've been updating my store with each SVN release to try and stay on top of all the bug fixes, and now you say stop using it??? I thought the whole purpose of us having access to SVN was so that we could bug fix our stores faster.Daniel wrote:don;t use svn. its only for testing.
there was one new filed created in the last version under settings.
Anyway, how would we update the database without messing up all the info we have in it already? Could we just run the installer again, or would that royally mess up everything?
Also, there's been a lot of updates since 1.5.0.5. Any idea when we'll get 1.5.0.6? That way I can just upload the zip file to my server and extract it directly from there without having to go through the whole FTP ordeal...
atm. there is no zero point for us "users" of OpenCart to start from, the svsn fixes bugs but also adds new features and thus new bug.
nofi Daniel, but look at the way Qphoria handles his 1.4.9.x releases with bug fixes and adding new features.

I'd have to agree. 1.5 already has a bunch of new features (along with its fair share of bugs). Adding new features to the SVN updates is like adding fuel to the fire when you're trying to put it out. I think the main focus should be on making 1.5 stable, and then new features can be added in the future.i2Paq wrote:I'm voting to stop adding new features to 1.5.0.x for the time being and lets get 1.5.0.5 without bugs first, release 1.5.0.6 as "stable" and then start adding new feature.

For now I'd just like to see a bug free version of 1.5
you should not use svn version on a live site. i have to upload half finished work sometimes just in case i lose any information on my pc. you can view the difference in each release and manually make the changes if you need to fix a bug.

That's what i've been doing, manually fixing the bugs as you update your SVN.Daniel wrote:you can view the difference in each release and manually make the changes if you need to fix a bug.
Now all i'm asking is how do I update my database without losing the information that's already in it, because you updated the database in SVN versions r443-446.
Can I just upload the install folder and run through the installer again? Or will that mess up my database?
Or are you planning on making an upgrade script from 1.5.0.5 to whatever the next version is you're planning on releasing?
You often say when someone addresses a bug "fixed in svn", but the svn has, as you say, also half finished work.Daniel wrote:you should not use svn version on a live site.
So it is circle we are in, use the svn to fix a bug but at the mean time it will get you half finished work and new issues.
Like I said, lets use the Qphoria method we are used to have in the last year or so. It will create a stable release with all "bugs" ironed out and all features completed. Then move on to new features and when we, as bug testers use the svn we know it is a work in progress.
Reason: typo

just uploaded 1.5.0.5 and mega menu not working..
Notice: Undefined index: top in /catalog/controller/common/header.php on line 186
seems a bug to me... how can i fix this?
whatever it is you think is not working is not a bug and isn't being worked on, because there are no known issues with options. You are doing something wrong if you can't add them.farenhide wrote:Hey
the options feature doesn't work in v1.5.0.5. (You can't add options by clicking +) is that already fixed? I'm waiting for 1.5.0.6 to get this feature working. Maybe i can fix it maually?
Thanks

I do...you never gave me an answer about the discount code bug which has been confirmed by a couple users.Daniel wrote:i have not found a bug with 1.5.0.5 yet that stops it from making sales.

There is not such a column in the "product" table as "image_id". However there is no usage in the controller for the function.
Code: Select all
public function getTotalProductsByImageId($image_id) {
$query = $this->db->query("SELECT COUNT(*) AS total FROM " . DB_PREFIX . "product WHERE image_id = '" . (int)$image_id . "'");
return $query->row['total'];
}
I am having the problem with the checkout
It wont get past the Step 3: Delivery Details
It just does the little thinking animation and then stays the same without moving onto the Step 4
Temp site at http://one.sharpedesigns.co.nz

Daniel, is this fixed in the svn or is it still being investigated, probably the only bug that is stopping sales that I've come across in 1.5.0.5
