Hi guys
We are on V1.4.9.1 opencart is working well for us.
The store has sold cut paper products. The way work is we have 18 different paper types/colours and about 50 different products we can make/cut out of each paper type. So we let the products go into minus balances and show the the stock status as cut to order. This all works well as the system mimics our operation. Example http://paperkutz.co.za/ocart/index.php? ... duct_id=52

Now we have bought fancy paper in which we have precut the product and the suppliers can't guarantee stock of this paper so we want to add products with stock and not let customers order more than we have in stock plus still order our standard products as above. If we put in stock of say 1000 units of the standard units then it shows as in stock, this does cause hassles as some customers also physically visit our shop and would like to buy from stock which we won't have ready. So is there a way show a positive stock balance as a status cut to order and with fancy product show the actual amount in stock.

I hope this has described our dilemma and someone has a solution.

opencart already allows both (balance or stock status) you might need to put a flag or code around the product to display which one you want. Its possible to do with minor changes to code. You might be looking at 'product' module in category and corresponding template.

Thanks for the reply kedgetech, I am not a computer coder so will see if I can get one of my family to have a look.
Has anyone else solved this problem?

You have to understand thats not a problem but more in lines of customization you need. Unless some one had actually done the same changes (which i would think is slim) your best bet is to get help.
