Hi Community,

Opencart 1.4.9

I have helped a friend setup a store (http://shop.expressheatingspares.co.uk not finished), I eventually got 58,000 products (lots not needed, I did warn him about performance) uploaded by importing CSV files in phpMyAdmin to specific tables.

I thought everything was fine, Ive uploaded a few extensions since which required adding and modifying files. Now when I try to add a product using the admin system, the specific page doesn't load. It's like it doesn't exist but without any errors. I can imagine this could be any number of problems depending on what i've been playing around with behind the scenes so.....

Im wondering if this has happened to anyone else and any ideas on what to try. I really don't want to experiment to try and fix as getting the products online was a pain. I really don't want to undo all the work i've put in so far.

If anyone out there can help it would be appreciated.

Thanks

Darren (More designer than developer)

Looks like my categories admin page no longer loads too :( . I have played with htaccess and config files recently, could this have any effect? Does anyone have any suggestions on possible mistakes i've done to lose access to parts of my admin system?

I can always add products directly to the database but I was hoping my mate could do any more additions himself via the backend and intended way.

Many thanks

i think your problem is connected to uploading using the CSV file, even with that many products could be time consuming but what i do is upload and encode it manually
i used to have a client who have 20,000+ products and they hired me to encode it manually and so i can also optimized it
took me took me a 350 hours/30 days to do the job the pay is $3.00 per hour in case your interested i can help you with manually putting it in your website

Give removing the php.ini files from both the store root and admin directories, to see if the store can use the default settings, the memory limit might be too low.

Definitely good to know Jefrey, I need to get the system up and running first. Will definitely keep you in mind for further data entry, as you say the manual way is the best (seo, images, etc).
