Hi there,

I have installed a second store as part of multi-store feature, but the System>Settings>Image doesn't give me an option to add new logo image.

The front end has the blank space at the place where the logo should be.

I looked everywhere on the forum and couldn't find any answer for this problem.

Any advice is greatly apprecuiated.

(version running: 1.4.9.1)

goto system->settings and choose your new store from the dropdown at the top of the page. now choose image and change the logo. once you have chosen a store from the dropdown every single setting you see on that page including all the tabs is unique for that store.

As I said in my original post, I have done all that !
But the option to change an image is not there, it is blanked out, I cannot click on it as I can on the logo in the first store. See the attachement.

I had the same issue.

I used firebug to edit the box and put an absolute link to an image in there -- when the image appeared, it was clickable and brought me to the image manager.

After that, I picked the image I wanted and it replaced the temporary 'firebug placeholder'.

Hopefully that helps.

I am actually having a related issue where, after clicking on the image to change it, no images load into the image manager -- it displays as if there are no images available, but, when I look in the folder and at the site, the images are clearly there.

Thoughts, anyone?

I've found this conversation and tried what it says, but no good?

This is same problem we have. We are able to only upload an image for the "default" domain name. There is not option to be able to click on the image manager to be able to choose a different image for other domains.

Hi,

Not sure if I can help but I have had the same problem with missing pictures in Image Manager and also no option to click on something to change the picture.

On each occasion it turned out to be something wrong with an image filename.

I did a backup of my site before making some changes and all picture functionality was lost. Turned out the the pictures had ended up with the extension .jpg.jpg instead of just .jpg - once I fixed that in ftp all worked fine.

Another time this was what I did http://forum.opencart.com/viewtopic.php?f=19&t=21766

Here is another thread about this problem if you've not seen it yet http://forum.opencart.com/viewtopic.php ... er#p121540

It seems to me that when images don't work it means there is a problem with the images but as there is no warning it takes some investigating to find out.

Apologies if I've told you nothing new :(

Thanks for the reply and suggestions. Unfortunately none of them were the issue. I even change the .gif to a .jpg for the heck of it...although it is the strangest thing I had ever heard. But it did not work. I even tried to go to the demo site and tried to add a "new" secondary site, but I could not test it because they blocked us from it. So finally I tried a fresh install and sure enough, it does the same thing. It appears to be a bug with OpenCart.

BTW, with the amount of problems they have had with simple images, I am thinking about giving up on OpenCart and start looking elsewhere. If they have these kind of issues with something as simple as an image I really can't imagine what the rest of the cart is like. I am still in "test" mode and while I do like some of the simplicity, I am surprised at some things that are so simple that they left out (i.e. import/export). We'll keep trying to give it a shot because we like multi store function, but I think they need to get the basics of the shopping cart working correctly for now.

There is an export/import module in the Extensions Directory.

Yeah, we got that one. It only did product. Not orders.

We kind of gave up on opencart for now. The main thing we wanted to try it for was the multi store which did not function very well. The cart itself is still pretty new and needs a little more growth, then we will probably look again.

For now we just used the "community" cart from CS-Cart. It has a lot more capabilities from the start for what we are doing.

The new version 1.5 might be good for you then when it does come out and any bugs get fixed.
Good luck :)
