Announcement: Building Opencart nude theme - Cornerstone

Hi all theme builders!

I've just started building a naked Opencart theme so that you would have a nice base to build your next projects on (just like Starkers for Wordpress).

There you can see a roadmap for the project. Since the theme is to be built with developers in mind I would like you to share your insights / ideas what features to include there. You can write them here or in the comments section on my blog.

I hope that Cornerstone (this is the name of the theme) will be ready by the end of this month (Feb, 2011).

Update: stripping the theme of styles and moving javascript is done. Next stage is joining the theme with HTML5 boilerplate.
Update: Cornerstone beta will be released tomorrow at night (~11p.m +01:00 GMT)
Update: Release Candidate of Cornerstone is now ready to download. All the bug reports will be appreciated.

Great idea. I thought about doing it myself. And it will be great for people using v1.4.9.x

However v1.5 is coming out soon. You may want to hold back and do it for that. Supposedly it has all inline styles removed already. Yay! I think there's still a lot of javascript in there though.

Or do it for both - wil be very welcome.

Actually I've been waiting for 1.5 for quite a time now and I can wait no longer. This 1.4.9.x theme will be a good starting point for me and, hopefully, I will learn a thing or two while doing that so that Cornerstone 1.5 will be much better.

When it comes to my progress I have already delt with Javascript in .tpl files. It is all moved to an external file. Tomorrow I will start "cleaning" html.
