Wanting to install this to OC 1.4.9.1. but could not understand the instruction,
What is the meaning of
Copy the files from the 'upload' directory to your target installation directory
of OpenCart.
What directory do I copy to? Do I need to execute something?
With apologies for my ignorance!

The upload folder will contain a couple of folders called admin/ and catalog/
Your web root (or opencart install directory) will contain a bunch of folders, including admin/ and catalog/
These folders are supposed to correspond, so you should place the admin/ and catalog/ folders within the upload directory into your opencart install directory. You don't need to execute anything, you just need to copy these files into the right place.

An Update:
well i copied each file across seperatly to the directory where i think it should be sitting. i can now see the export / import function in the system menu (go into system > users > user groups and enable it under administrator first).
i havent a file to import yet as i dont know what format (which colunms go where ) so i thought i would export one to see as the demo products are still there. and got the following error:

I realy think that import/export functions need to be a standard feature of a webshop, all shops like cubecart, magento provide it out of the box.

Solved this one.
The programmer uses capital letters in his file names and "require_once" like require_once 'pear/Spreadsheet/Excel/Writer/BIFFwriter.php';
when copying with an ftp program the capitals get lowercase and the program can't find its files annymore.
PM and i i'll send the version for 4.9.1 with only lowercase letters.
but import/export should really be a standard function out of the box.................
I'm confused too. The instructions are a little vague and given how well this has been written generally and how easy it was to install opencart, WHY this isn't just packaged in with all the other stuff?luciano_italia wrote:Hey there,

I downloaded and installed an old version of import/export which open cart recognised but it didn't agree with the site and created all sorts of errors.
I removed the old version, downloaded the latest version and copied the relevant files into the site.
I copied the Admin folder like for like. I copied Pear & PHP Excel into the system folder and vqmod into the root.
However, I can't see the option to select in User Group / Top Admin.
Any suggestions wouldn't be great.
Cheers, Bruce.
