Hi. I'm wondering if OpenCart has the ability to have multi-vendor capability. In other words, various sellers can signup, and start selling their products in my online marketplace – I guess just like how Amazon Seller Marketplace works. My site gets a cut of their sales. Thanks.

CS-Cart just released a multivendor addon for their cart.
The cart is commercial and costs $285 USD normally
The multivendor addon costs $695 additional.

So you can see its quite a bit of work

ok. thanks everyone.

"check with fido-x"
yeah, i checked the thread, and then his site, but he doesn't list any status. i emailed him, so hopefully, i'll hear back soon.

"So you can see its quite a bit of work"
yeah, i've been searching all day today, and having the multi-vendor ability isn't very common.

i checked out the cs-cart on your recommendation. looks like it might work. their site says "CS-Cart Multi-Vendor shopping cart is an extended edition of CS-Cart ecommerce software that enables you to create an online marketplace where multiple vendors can manage sales of their own products through one common web store."

and the price is $695 as an early promo for pre-orders. looks like it's not an addon, but an actual different version (edition) of the product.

also, if anyone's intersted, i found x-cart has a multi-vendor option as well.

thanks. i'm still opening there's a solution for opencart - i downloaded the code, and it sure looks clean and easy to manage. that's a big plus in my book.

Today I uploaded multi-vendor extension that I developed for my own site. Check-it at the following link:http://www.opencart.com/index.php?route ... ion_id=884.

Ofcourse, still external users cannot sign-up which is an upcoming feature.

Extensions: Multi-vendor extension
Shipping Modules: SuperShip Pro

Multi-Vendor Marketplace:Opencartmarketplace.com
IceCat to Opencart: Import millions of IceCat products to Opencart

Does x-cart also charge for the mod or is it part of the cart?

Is this like a way for people to have a way to login to your admin and then be able to control their own products?
This sounds dumb but can somebody explain this concept to me?

Cartpro - does your extension allow the vendor to sign-up and manage the product listings themselves or is this just another filter added to the product for each vendor?

im looking for somethign like opencart software
You can sell your work through opencart's extension section. All you have to do is fill out the form below and submit it.

How it works

Upload a theme or extension to the extension section and set how much you want to sell your theme / extension for.
Every time you theme / extension is sold opencart will receive 20% commision.
You will be paid for each extension sold at the end of every month.
You can view each every time some one buys your theme / extension on the transaction page.

yeah they never say, and the only feedback I've ever heard on the forums here is that it doesn't work, but holy crap I can't believe they've got that many people on their team. You'd think they could complete stuff quicker. Personally If I was looking for something like that I would look into fido-x's mod since I have used his modules and know the quality of his code.

+1
With a team that size, imagine all the possibilities!

+1 heads up for fido-x's mod, didn't even that it existed!
Knowing his presence here at the forums, code and quality are not an issue :)
