I'm looking to re-create what is on the bottom of this page -
https://www.carguygarage.com/pictures.html

Current problems with it are first that it's not mobile friendly. Second that we wrote it many years ago on the Yahoo store platform, and we're now moving to OC. Third, the gallery now has over 7,000 images so the code is bloated. At this point, not sure if I should attempt to re-write it myself or hire someone else to write it.

Some specs -

1. Anyone can vote on those photos, a cookie is dropped to them once they place a vote so they can't vote on the same photo twice (unless they clear their cookies.) No need to get fancy with this, all the votes do is sort the page, so if someone wants to cheat it's not a big deal.

2. Sorting of the gallery defaults to top votes to the worst votes. There is also a way to sort them by newest image to oldest.

3. As mentioned above, needs to be mobile friendly.

4. I have the back end admin side already written in Perl. Currently I export the new images as a zip and the name/location/product category that associates to each image as a CSV that we then pick up in the Yahoo Store. How the data is imported into OC can be different than the current process, but it needs to be something that's easily done. There are usually about 15 new photos added to the system twice a week.

5. The newly added photos are sent out in an email with the associated products. It's probably easiest to show you what I mean. Take a look here -
https://www.carguygarage.com/newsletter191125.html
That was last week's email that went out to our mailing list. You'll see at the bottom of that page I just pick up the HTML and text code and dump it into our email software.
When I set up that email -
1. I put in the ID's of the new customer photos. I can drag and drop the photos to re-arrange them for the email.
2. The photos are followed by 4 images showing items from the associated category that is tagged to the image. That category comes from the data I mentioned above in the CSV file.
3. I enter in the items that are 2 per row that show up every 2 images.
4. I have another system that will export all the car show data, just need a field to put it into the email.
NOTE: All the items on that page have the text converted to images, and the code figures out where to place the line breaks. This way the email displays the same for everyone's email.

Let me know if there are any questions. Estimates on cost would be appreciated.

Thanks to those who have expressed interest. There have been questions about our new OC site, and I already have that well underway so I do not need help there.
Also I do not understand why so many people want to talk on Skype. Please ask any questions you may have on this forum post. It is much easier on everyone to have everything documented so that there is no confusion on what needs to be completed.

paul - you've been the only one to actually give me a quote, thank you for that.

I've done a lot more digging into this, and this morning found this https://piwigo.org which has been very promising. Now trying to figure out how to plug that into an OC template.. humm...
