Help with Daily Fake Spam Registrations (Installing CSRF Mod)

I have been getting a lot of registrations and affiliate spam recently.

I have disabled the affiliate so the affiliate part is not bothering me anymore.

However, for the customer registrations, it is still a big problem. I have downloaded and installed the CSRF mod by straightlight, however I can't get it to work. I have stopped receiving spam registrations on opencart 2.0.1.1 but not sure if it is the mod or just a coincidence? For opencart 2.0.3.1, still receiving daily fake registrations.

Looking for someone to get the CSRF mod to work properly on both my sites.
