I am doing a online fast food order website and started to do it in tastyigniter but realised alot of custom work/coding is required to make it work for example I need something like chained selection/options so thought of opencart as there are extensions for chained/dependent options and found one but may need help/advice with it.

Can a online food ordering website be done in opencart?
What extensions other than the dependent options would be recommended?

I think I am going to need to create loads of product options, for example the extra toppings and stuffed edge options vary in price based on the size of the pizza selected, this is where the chained/dependent options come on but I am going to have to create each extra topping for each pizza size selected as can't see any other way to do it or can anyone possibly do some custom code so I select a 10" pizza, the extra toppings will be £0.70 but if I select 13", the extra toppings will be £0.80 and so on

Thank you in advance

Is this a paid support request?

yeah it is more than asking for advice/help. Not sure opencart is the best for it but thought wonder if it could be made into a online food order website

Ok because I'm a bit concerned there's not actually any work for anyone here and you're going to get free advice and then won't go ahead with anything.

If that's the case that's fine but in that case the post doesn't belong in the Commercial Support forum.

So what exactly is the paid bit of work here?

The paid bit of work is that I need the product options prices to be according to the pizza size selected, for example if I select 10" pizza, the extra toppings and stuffed edges options will be based on the pizza size selected, so if I select 10" the extra toppings prices are £0.70, if I select 13" pizza, the extra toppings prices are £0.80 and so on

Then you need an extension like one of these:
https://www.opencart.com/index.php?rout ... n_id=13882
https://www.opencart.com/index.php?rout ... n_id=33035

In future please don't use this forum unless you have a paid project to give to a developer.

In case you still want to make food ordering website, I think there are some points you can't ignore. For example, you should define your target audience, get a great UI/UX design, adapt your website to local needs.

You can also create a food delivery app. But before building an app, you should have known what features do you need. There are some points you can not be ignored.

If you are planning a full-fledged development of your food delivery business, I advise you to contact you at web development agency. Some reasons:
1-Problem solving: their work in people's own lives.
2-Collaboration: Work to build partnerships with you, achieve great results, develop the right conclusion, and provide assistance throughout your entire product lifecycle.
3-Transparent: they humanize technology. It's all about relationships with buyers and their end users. In this case, they understand in advance when it happens, when and why.

When it comes to a restaurant app development, a menu feature is no the only one to consider. You also need to think about such features as loyalty program, custom support (in-app chat), payments both for order and tips (!), table reservation, etc. And in addition there are features that can contribute to the customer experience such as quick order (repeat a previous order), user reviews, social media sharing, gamification, delivery tracking, etc.

I always wonder what is the best solution for me and for my online business. I have a small shop on wordpress but I want to scale it.
Now my eye set on Magento, Opecart and Shopify. I have read article here https://www.zfort.com/blog/best-ecommerce-platforms
It says that these are three best options. What do you think about it?

Well-served customers are happy customers. You don’t want to keep your guests waiting for ages to get their food. The good news is that you can deliver without delays or errors by implementing online ordering for restaurants. - https://steelkiwi.com/blog/innovative-o ... staurants/
