Just install Opencart, download your virtumart database, reformat it in an excel spreadsheet and import all of your products into Opencart using the http://forum.opencart.com/index.php/topic,935.0.html import module.

If you make it idiot proof, they will just build a better idiot.

It sounds easy  ;)

I've just ported over my products from virtuemart, it involved a lot of hacking sql commands and comparing filenames etc

It wasn't easy but its nearly done, Just got to put my 'options' in shortly.

It depends on how advanced your virtumart setup was really
