I must admit that I got a bit impatient and I set up a test site for Magento.

Unfortunately Magento is much to complicated for me, I love the simplicity of OpenCart and therefore I will wait for the new version!

(I am not going to start building my shop with the current version to prevent doing double work,  it seems that .8 will be quite different).

Find out how to backup your computer files!

I missed another deadline, but it is nearly ready.

Replacing all the SQL has been taking a while.

It should be released next week now.

Hello Daniel,

I am new here but want to say my impressions about this open source project.

First of all the application is great ecommerce solution.
A lot of people dont like the other solutions just because they are not simple like OC is.
Thats why new people here in the forum looking for more and more.
So thanks for sharing this script with us.

But...
Open source software cannot be run only by one man and be progressive.Thats why people helping code to evolute.

People arroung will continue to ask and ask for more and the only One who can answer right now is You.
To prevent this overflow you have to share the svn, document the code, organize the system, create expirienced community.

Then people will start to help You, contribute code, improve modules, fixing bugs, answer the newest people's questions and You can stay and watch the rise of this open source software.

At last your software rocks and has a big future.

Cheers

Hello People,
Sorry that my message was a hard touch. But I read few topics about how everyone is asking for releases for Daniel.

I am a developer and i was impressed from the MVC framework of this script. I started to learn it and realized that the system is wells structured but not documented. I downloaded few contributed modules and i have to sit down today and checkout how they are made.

I also like that jQuery is included into the script because i am a big fan and it can really rocks the site.

Sorry again about my first opinion.
I am happy to be around anyway and I am starting my first project on OpenCart

Yes looks like yet another deadline missed. Not really sure why Daniel keeps making promises...eventhough he stated once that he shouldn't in the first place.

I've been observing the form since Nov last year where we all have been eager awaiting the 0.8 release.

I hope it'll be worth waiting for :D

Talk about ungrateful!  :o

I know you think you understood what I said, but what you heard was not what I meant

Daniel,

Whenever you release OpenCart 0.8, can you make sure that OpenCart 0.7.7 still remains available for a while, too, because there are many live shops using that version.

It would make sense to maintain 0.7.7 (e.g. for minor bug fixes, etc) for a reasonable period of time anyway. I have so far set up and customised 6 Australian web sites using OpenCart 0.7.7, it is a great shopping cart solution!

Export/Import Tool * SpamBot Buster * Unused Images Manager * Instant Option Price Calculator * Number Option * Google Tag Manager * Survey Plus * OpenTwig

How can we do this without any log-in details?
