No images cart wide

Fresh install of rc6, no images at all will show. I just followed instructions and haven't touched any setting yet. Not even icons in admin?
PHP Version: 5.2.5
DB Version: MySQL 5.0.67-log

erm...
The images are there.. but they are just huge white images... you sure you didn't do anything yet?
Its weird:

shows a link to the text. Does your host have some sort of weird image controller?

Nope, straight out of the box. I moved them a third time and they are there
