you don't know, how to create a successfull Business out of it.
But don't give up, just realize, that OpenCart means Business, and if one
is not familiar with Online Software, one needs a technical Supporter.
But such Services do not come for free. like in any other Business, better
be aware of that.

Every website without a SSL-Certificate is a bad website.
Especially a Webshop MUST have a SSL-Certificate!
And no Lets'Encrypt - used by too many fakeshops.
Btw.: if you cannot pay approx. 20,- Euro per year for a real SSL-Certificate, better let the job.
And: if you do not use https, Searchengines will rank you lower ..
Has nothing to do with security, may help only the shopowner not loosing money ...
1 - Switch to HTTPS
2 - Secure Back-office Area
3 - Backup Data Regularly
4 - Never Hold Client Card Data
5 - Use a GeoLocation Anti-Fraud Software
6 - Formulate Manual Security Policies
7 - Have the Multi-Layered Security System
Hope that helps,
Checking folder permissions, file permissions on the server is key and I like the suggestion of paying for a Firewall.
Glad to see others are realizing this. Free is not always a great idea and in this case, exploited by way too many websites.
