Hi this is what i would like to see added to the already great opencart.

Admin
the ability to add multiple product options at one time, currently there is a dropdown choice.
I suggest using the additional images method in the product details.

Duplicate products and categories would be nice.

Front end
Some of the exelent modifications added to the default install would be great.

just a thought

Those are actually very realistic and feasible ideas :)
We will keep them in mind.

We were actually looking to start a requests thread for 0.8 when 0.7.9 final was released.

Hi Guys, not sure if this comment belongs here but it relates slightly to technojunky's original post.

When you add options to a product, there is no way to enter into the database via the admin how much stock you have for each option. So for example say I'm selling shoes and I want to have a size 9 and size 10 for a particular type of shoe. I can add these two options to the product data in the admin, but then I only have one overall quantity to put in for the product as a whole. So if I have 10 size 9's and 10 size 10's then I could put 10 as the quantity to start with, but then once all my size 9's are gone and I've got a few size 10's left, how do I handle that?

It almost seems like you need another product_options_quantity table in the database. Also, just thinking about it, what if one of the options you have is more expensive than another, so really each product option should have a seperate price too (or an option button in the admin to use the main product price and quantity, or a custom price and quantity). Obviously then as products are bought on the site then the correct quantity needs to be adjusted accordingly in the database.

The product options are great but not very useful (unless I've missed how to use them properly). For now all I can do is have a seperate product for each shoe size which doesn't make for a very professional looking shop.

Keep up the good work - I think Opencart is great and hopefully soon I'll get up to speed with programming this stuff and will be able to make some contributions.

PS: I don't sell shoes ::) ... I just thought it a strange way for the product options to work.

oh yes, I second that idea.
there could be another field for the stock number after the product option. now when that number reaches 0, simply reflect that in the front end.

Yea, option stock and weight was a contrib I made for 0.x. I will see about porting it to 1.x. Perhaps it could be added to the core.
