Please try to do as following to setup the slideshow module:
1, you can copy all files and folder under "upload" folder when you extract zip file. Then upload to root folder of your opencart site on your host.
2, Go to admin panel > Extensions > Modules, click "install" module "EC Slideshow", edit the module, you will see submenu "Manage Banner", add a banner and images for banner.
3, Go to slideshow module, add new "Slideshow" choose the banner which you created.

It's a great module but it wont display images correctly on 1.5.6.1:
when I load an image 940 x 380 into it, specify the same sizes in the module for width and height it stretches the images too much in width.
I am using the same image in banner to test with the same settings and it works perfectly.
I have tried setting module settings to 100% and to "auto" and changing the "resize type" but it just doesn't play nicely. Shame because it is really great in terms of functionality. (I also cleared the image cache, same problem)
This is random and on all browsers. When I refresh the page the slider works great but when I refresh a few times the transparent product title overlaps with another products title and then once the images have shown the slider shows as white. Has anyone had this issue?

I have downloaded the latest version of this module for 2.0.1.1 which is what I am using
I have uploaded to contents of my upload directory to my root directore. I thought that was all I
had to do, but when I go to modules it is not there . Am I missing something. I am using the standard
install of Opencart.
Thanks,
Chris.
For security reasons I had renamed my admin directory and put a dummy one in its place. I needed to install all the admin files there (In the renamed admin directory)

Why set the image to be a background of a div? can't set any other classes on it that would make it responsive along with the rest of my style and opencart in general. like
or
The images stay the same size and hang out the side of the frame, viewport, etc.. when viewed in any browser that has a smaller than the image dimensions.
Really annoying... or have I missed something in the setting, cause there are a lot of them.

Anyway I've the same problem of the image that is going out of the screen if bigger.
I've also tried to fix it by myself using background-size but without luck.
