(1) I would like my sitemap URL to be index.php?route=feed/sitemap rather than the default index.php?route=feed/google_sitemap, but when I edit the data feed URL and save it, it won't use it, instead reverting to the default.

Suppose it's not critical, but since I'd like to submit it elsewhere besides Google, I don't see why MY sitemap has to have Google's name in it?

(2) This is probably a stupid question, but...I can see that the sitemap is dynamically generated, so that means there's not going to be any actual document anywhere in my root directory that I can edit (if I want to use the feed to generate it), right?

I ask because I'm wondering how to make changes to it manually? Maybe I don't need to, but this leads to:

(3) Does anybody happen to know whether you can use the OC feed-generated sitemap to submit to BOTH mywebsite.com and http://www.mywebsite.com on Google? They say they treat them as 2 different websites (stupid), and I can see that the latter is generating a lot of 404s because Google is still trying to crawl my old site. But I don't know what will happen if I submit the sitemap for mywebsite.com as the one for http://www.mywebsite.com to Google.

Using OC version 1.4.8b

There is no reason to worry about a Google site map, Google will pickup you new site, sometimes takes up to 4 months. Your main concern here is you should be using SEO friendly URLS if you want any type of SEO for your site. Don't worry about site maps name the search engines "WILL" find it.
