Which is the best Import/Export extension for large stores?

I've been using JNeuhoff's excellent Export/Import Tool extension for the past 6 years or so but unfortunately, it seems as if it cannot handle a store with more than 4,400 products as the process now times out.

I was wondering if the OpenCart community could recommend the best extension for Import/Export (of both products & options) that will support larger sites (4,000+ products)?

I recommend you to try import your products via alternative solution which is called Store Manager for OpenCart. It is desktop solution and you can run it from your PC without overloading the server.
It includes a plug-in that might help you to run import process and update your products on daily, weekly or monthly bases automatically.

While I agree a desktop solution is the way to go, $154 is a ridiculously high price to pay for just 2 pc licenses (mine & my client's).

I found 2 solutions which work just fine for a grand total of $30.

I bought those two modules, and they helped me a lot.

anyway, i'm still looking for a better solution, maybe to manipulate the data directly from the database (mysql)...
