I purchased a private IP from my host, then I bought a certificate, got that uploaded to my cpanel.

Now, I want the part in Open cart where people enter their name, address, etc., to be secure. How/where/what do I need to do? Do I need to add something to some code and if so, what, and in which document?

I'm slightly familiar with php, well versed in HTML and CSS.

Please advise asap...thanks! ???

In opencart control panel -> Systems -> Server -> Use SSL -> set to yes.
Only cart where payment, and account registration is required needs ssl.

You also need to put the ssl path in your store's settings - usually it's https://www.yourstore.com

Running Opencart v3.0.3.2 with multi-stores from https://www.labeshops.com which has links to all my stores.
