product weight question

I am curious as to the how to set the product weight when I have my weight option set to grams.
In the data section of the product I have say an item that weighs 50 grams...
in the data section of the product do I input the weight as...
Weight: 50
Weight Class: Gram

or as


Weight: .050
Weight Class: Gram

Will set the weight at 0.05 grams.

If the product weighs 50 grams and you choose 0.050, then your weight class should be kilograms.
