Basket button contribution is here http://www.opencart.com/index.php?route ... ion_id=393
You can do the checkout button with the same way so you need to study the basket button functionality and make your own mod of it.

according to OC 1.4.6 mods should work with 1.4.7? Let me know how you go and if it dont work i will dl 1.4.7 and get it working
Good luck!

Good luck!
I just added a slightly modified version of this mod to the OpenCart Extensions site for 1.4.7.
http://www.opencart.com/index.php?route ... ing%20cart
This version allows editing the styles of the buttons without effecting all buttons on the site and fixes small formatting issues.
The follwing file was added:
catalog/view/theme/default/stylesheet/cart.css
*NOTE 1: You might have to play with the CSS to fit the button wording in the cart box.
*NOTE 2: You might have to play with line 23 of cart.tpl to adjust the bottom of the cart box.
This supports opencart v1.4.7!
Demo at http://neatpleats.com
Please submit any errors! I'm not new, but I'm rusty!

Yeah this is a huge deal. I started migrating customers from OS Commerce to Opencart and the big complaint from customers with sites that make good $$. Is the Customers are getting lost. They are finding products adding to cart then not checking out. One site in particular was doing 10 to 25 sales a day switched to Opencart and has had none.
We ran some tests with people and their biggest complaint was "I added to cart but now what do I do. I don't know where to go" Even though the checkout tab was at the top. Gotta love Users
