Open Cart automatically resizes some images due to responsive design? no?
Is the a way to make opencart use this program? https://trimage.org/

Well, where is a Will, there is a Way :D , but to achieve something like this,
you have to look around for a paid DEV, very familiar with OpenCart.
And better be aware, that, probably, every Extension, related to images
in some ways, would have to be custom-adapted as well, to match such
new Standards.
So, better rework all those images by use of a Windows-based Tool, many
of those exist, to so bulk-compress/rework all images, before they are
uploaded to a Server. And don't use 2'000px-wide Images, to then present
them in a Shop with a 800px resolution or so, that's what costs load time
and image quality.

Wow, you seem so competent and then you use windows? Really? ???

This online tool is free: https://imageoptim.com/online

it is so good that when a script "resized" the image the resulting smaller image is bigger than the original.

But thanks, I understand that this is a custom developed feature. For now I will have to pass. Thanks for your input.

Well, I never claimed, to have much competence, when it comes to OC and Coding
in General, because if I would, I would sit somewhere around on a Beach, and not
have wasted more than 50 months already, trying to find out the secrets of Opencart,
After being in possession of - if... elseif... else... -, and other crab since 1977

But the amount of Postings here has no relation to the Quality of it's Content. In
my case, it happen more by Accident, to belong to the Guru's here, while reading
and replying to a lot of things, where others run into similar problems, or had
similar wishes, what got me, to try out new things, eventually wasting nights again.

In addition to experience, that 'Social Media Type' Communication can be of high
Value, when it comes to Business. And it always pays out, to be known, in a 'decent'
way, if someone is looking for someone, in some case and situation, you never know,
as long as you live ... ;)

But it's more fighting Mr. Alzheimer&Co., and learning by doing, plus getting ideas, what
keeps me here, otherwise, I would long have started, to turn my knowledge into Cash,
and I even imported + sold PC's, from 286/16 up to Pentium 1's, but only driven with
DOS, GEM, up to W2k. And since then, I got stuck with XP, and never ever had a feeling,
to get familiar with anything else anymore.

But without Peter Norton, and a couple of other nice Fellows, I would never have been
able, to get 'amused' with DOS and Windows, after investing whole nights, and months,
many Moons before DOS was born, to get our first Commodore 8032 handmade Software,
to handle our ~30K Customer Addresses in a decent way. And it took 2 C8032 Double Floppy
Drives, to even keep that relatively tiny amount of address data in place. Today, you get
a whole Blockchain Station, for what I paid, for that shit. But it revolutionized our Business.

But WIN XP was the last Version, I bothered about, and since then, my later Win version
Machines are just waiting for the day, when my beloved XP's would eventually no longer
be usable. But since I still have a couple of latest tech+updated XP-PC's in spare, they will
probably keep me in touch, as long as I reside on this planet.

But changing to ...nix, no way. To me, it would be comparable with changing to v.3.1.a,
since it would only force me, to learn new things, but without a single good reason, because
I don't need any of them, as long as I can use, what I already know a little about, and have.
In addition to the Fact, that everything exists already, on Knowledge and Code, what I ever
need, for my PC's as well as for OC, and I can keep on, without the need, to ask about for help.
Never get divorced, just because the new one has Tattoos ...

If you know, what I'm trying to tell you ... :D

However, monthly service fees are required to use their API in order to optimize those images while Opencart does it for free with a File Manager.

The most generated errors being found on Opencart forum originates from contributed programming. The increased counters are caused by posted redundancies of the same solutions that were already provided prior.
