As this post title says, ¿is there the possibility to use city instead of post code to estimate the shipping costs and taxes in the shopping cart page?

OC version. Shopping mall request: https://www.opencart.com/index.php?rout ... n_id=24034 . While this extension might be for lower OC versions, it can also be easily converted to OC v3.x releases.

It solely depends on shipping method. If it allows you to use City name, then it is possible. But I am not aware of any API which allows you to calculate by city.

If you can't find an extension, you could pay a developer such as ourselves or post a job in the Commercial Support Forum.

Thank you for your answers. A last question: ¿Is it possible to deactivate "Estimate Shipping & Taxes" only at shopping cart page?

By creating a /after event trigger, this could be achieved.

There's actually a setting for that. You can turn it on/off in Extensions > Order Totals > click "Edit" for Shipping. If you turn it off in there, the checkout will still work fine (and any other shipping estimate modules you may have installed) .
