Anyone know of a module that will allow a customer in a physical store to add to cart via a QR Code for simplified checkout?

In addition to our online store, we have a physical store with all of our products on display 1200-ish of them.
Right now our customers that visit our farm hand select each product and we have staff that go into their account and "create"and online order. This is fine if the store is quiet, however when it's busy it's madness.

What we would like is a QR code on the product box, client scans the QR code with their smartphone and it automatically adds it to their cart (in their account) we can then check qtys and checkout for them either on their phone or on a PC.

Hi

I have this paid extension which can be used to add products to the cart via a direct link. When you generate a link with this module, It also generates a QR code which can be used to add products to the cart.
Please try its live demo to see how it works.

And how exactly do you scan the QR code? If you're going to scan it with some device, you need to have some kind of software to process the data from scanner. The rest is easy.

They will need to use either their smartphone with a QR app installed or we can have a device with an app installed that they can use.

Well, an app on the phone and a hand scanner are two different things. For an app you can have a simple QR-code with a link. Your employer scans the code and then clicks the link to add the product to card. For a hand scanner this process can be automated a bit, but harder to implement.

Or an other way can be that you put some label GNT number or similar tag on the product and when customers pickup those items your staff can use scanner and they can pay over the counter.
something like this?

It will require some coding, there is no existing module that does this automatically. Besides the work of printing the QRs

You will have to create QR codes with URLs to the products (or add to cart but that requires more coding), print them, and place them on the products. Then, when a customer drops by, and wants to make an order, ask them to scan the code which will be a link to the product so they can "add to cart".

If you can't find an extension, you could pay a developer such as ourselves or post a job in the Commercial Support Forum.

A few of you are practising that!
Guess those are doing it, want only to promote their services via the signature.
Better stop such, otherwise those posting will be deleted.
