Whilst mistakes do happen even to the most experienced people, generally the result of users preferring free and cheap extensions will lead to users getting exactly what they do not pay for ..

This is usually as a result of the ocmod being of the incorrect file type
1. ocmod must have an install.xml file
2. the folder must be upload
3. the file being uploaded must be named

if you have a problem with fixing this yourself, contact the person who wrote the ocmod.

You should not modify core files .. if you would like to donate a cup of coffee I will write it in a modification for you.

Just unpack and upload manually via FTP.

Professional OpenCart extensions, support and custom work.

You probably are uploading a .zip bundle, not an bundle. Sometimes the extension you download will be a .zip, but you need to unzip it to find the documentation and installation bundles.
