Hi,

I got a bit of odd question. Recently my images (except my banner slideshow) didnt appear on my webshop anymore (www.regashi.nl if you want to see).
When I try to upload new images in my database it says: Warning Directory does not exist.

Someone knows how it is possible that suddenly it doesnt view my images anymore? When I look into my FTP maps I can see, download and view all the images.

link to my website is http://www.regashi.nl for anyone who wants to see on the front-end what is wrong.

Please advise.

What's in your config.php for the images path (both admin and catalog directories)?
Did you move hosts recently?

Code: Select all

define('DIR_IMAGE', '/this/is/your/image/path/');

Extensions I've made (free):

Breadcrumbs for 2.3.0.2 & 3.0.2.0 Breadcrumb links for subcategories & parent category on product pages
Product Requests Allow customers to request notifications for sold out products
Abandoned Carts Send inquiries to abandoned carts to complete checkout or provide feedback
Ghost Orders Cleanup residue left behind by one page checkout addons

Hi ACX,

Thanks for the quick reply.
In the Catalog directory there is no config php, not even if I re-install the core?

And I didn't move hosts recently, it suddenly came up like this?

Both config.php files are located in the root location and in the admin folder.

The most generated errors being found on Opencart forum originates from contributed programming. The increased post counters are caused by redundancies of the same solutions that were already provided prior.

Just open your config.php and admin/config.php file and check whether the path defined for ‘DIR_IMAGE’ is correct.

Also, check the permission for image folder i.e 755 and don’t forget to clear the image cache, now hit a try.

Solution? My site has been live for a few years with no issues, went on it recently and all of my catalog images are blank. Go to add image and when I go to upload pop up says "directory doesn't exist. both config files are pointing to correct path. The path still has all photos in it. I went on and cleared the cache folder and changed permissions back to 755, still not photos, I am on version 2.3.0.2, do i need to update my version?

Well, if you possibly updated your System from v.1.5.x to v.2.3.0.2, just
make sure, to now have your images stored under: image/catalog/...
and no longer under: image/data/...
But don't update anymore from 2.3.0.2 up, better wait a good while,
until the so far rather unfortunate v.3 Saga has found a happy end.
Just get all the Fixes for OC v.2.3.0.2, found in the Forum and Extension
Section:

Good Luck!

I had this very issue with my opencart 2.3x It was a path issue. Apparently host changed the home path to /home2/opencart/rest of path, instead of /home/opencart/rest of path.

I changed the paths in the two config.php files in root and in admin directory. Worked out for me.

I hope this helps someone else with this issue.

One quick way to find out if your host has changed the home path would be by opening the host's file manager console and notice the top tree location. It is a good point, however, that hosts may sometimes change the home path. Recently, I was on a custom job where I did noticed the config.php and admin/config.php files being differed as compared to the File Manager.
