If you are having issues with your emails not sending in admin, or the contact form not sending emails; then this might solve your problem.
I noticed after 2 hours of debugging that i was using an example@gmail.com email which was preventing the form and admin to work correctly. Try creating an email that includes your website name i.e example@yourwebsitename.com once you create an email on your websites hosting account use that email in your admin->settings->store email. I also went to the mail configuration tab and entered it into the mail parameter -f example@yourwebsitename.com .... things began to work.
I'm guessing this new version assumes you will be using an email that is linked to the site. Not sure if other versions had this same requirement, but if you overlooked it and happen to be using an email thats not @yourwebsitesname.com then try what i did.
Hopefully this solves some one a head ache.
Take care.
Also ensure your admin - > systems - > settings - > edit settings - > mail tab - > bottom page contains check marked options to the route where emails should be sent in the mean time.

the email entered in system-->setting-->store must be same as the one in system-->setting-->email.
then i works either using "-f something@example.com" or SMTP.
hope it helps.

I don't understand why i'm having so many problems with a fresh install. This is just one of the few i'm trying to resolve haha
If those work, the other should work also unless you miss events.

The contact form will not send emails. I've tried everything I've read to get it to work and my web host is trying to help. Can anyone tell me what else I should be looking at to get it to work? I cannot go live with my contact form not working.

However, none of the screenshots have been posted. To verify that assumption, please post both screenshots of your OC admin email form and your cPanel > Email Accounts > Manage > SSL table (both without passwords) as well as your events from your OC admin - > extensions - > events page (makes it third).

Heading to a more serious host packaging might be more ideal, in this case.

A lot of changes can happen within 5 years especially with free hosts since they do own the rights to make periodic changes without notifications to their users as opposed to paid services and even there could be tricky without taking a look at the server activity logs.dm5400 wrote: ↑Sat Apr 11, 2020 2:12 amI've been with them for over 5 years and have another website with OpenCart 2.0.1.1 and do not have issues with the contact form using the shared SSL. I also tried sending it without smtp/shared ssl and it won't work. If I can't get this fixed, I won't be able to open my website.

If the SSL is free, then it is not a production SSL, it is a certificate for development. No development certificate should be used during sales or when a store runs live.

If you'd expect an accurate solution on that, I could take a look at the issue as a custom job. Send me a PM, if interested.
