Admin - > system - > settings - > edit settings - > server tab.

To force SSL, see if this solution is working: viewtopic.php?f=20&t=48430&p=708611#p708611

the SSL option doesn't show up in the server tab though?

Security
Allow Forgotten Password Yes No
Use Shared Sessions Yes No

is all that shows under security.

Try the default theme rather than custom theme to see if you can replicate the same issue.

In this case, there are countless SEO extensions you could use from the marketplace rather than the one from the core. Almost all SEO extensions on the marketplace provides good results.

surely its an opencart issue if 1: there is no SSL option within the settings tab and also happens if you just enable normal SEO urls through the admin panel?

Forcing SSL breaks the template completely whether i use a 3rd party module or the opencart set urls...

You are unable to login to the admin at this time, how can you know which current setting you have under your store settings from the Opencart admin interface?

Correct. The Github master files no longer uses SSL parameters as it is detected automatically nowadays especially with the use of .htaccess. As you said on the above, when you disable SEO, the SSL links works fine which means this is an incompatibility issue you are using with the SEO extension and you need to contact the extension developer to make it work together.

ok thank you, I'm managing to narrow it down.
So leaving htaccess alone i make changes to config files in both admin and main catalog to force SSL there.
This enables SSL to work across the site but still break when you enable seo urls for some reason so I'm back to the beginning again.

I will open a support ticket with iSense labs and see if they can help resolve the problem then. Although it happens with or without their module installed.

do you think this could be the issue:

http://forum.opencart.com/viewtopic.php?f=190&t=160983

as my main site and main category works with SSL and SEO enabled... but the child/sub categories then break
