Installed extension on 3.0.2.0.
I cannot see the extension in the admin - I am clearly doing something basic wrong but cannot see what it is! Any ideas?
thanks!

Hello all,

I am a long time Opencart user. Thanks for all the great work.
After the recent upgrade to 3.0 we started experiencing Customer registration Spam. Mostly Russian addresses.
I get about 50 every day. There doesn't seem to be anything else going on, just the registration. We tried Captcha and RE-Captcha and doesn't even slow them down. The IP's are all different. I searched the forums here and can't seem to find anything recent. I would be grateful if someone has a solution to this. I am afraid something sinister may happen and frankly its annoying deleting all of those registrations every few days.

Thank you in advance for any help.
For anybody experiencing similar problems with fake registrations: Our new SpamBot Buster will prevent these bad spambots from doing so!

Deploying spam honeypots is a great strategy if you are a spam blacklist service provider, it is not when you attempt to prevent spam on your website.

Well, so far we have had a 100% success rate in repelling fake registrations and spam messages on live sites (with an average 5 to 10 spambot attacks daily) , so it actually works!

The fact that you consider that a good proof of concept already indicates that you have no clue of what you are doing.
You probably read on the internet about honeypots somewhere and thought "Cool, let's do that and run our own blacklist".
You do not need to start your own weather-service to determine if it rains.

True, if your solution incorporates real-time covert bot detection and human spam submission prevention then great, but lose the honeypot concept and the proclamation that that is the innovative concept bringing you 100% peace of mind as it is not, it is as old as spam itself and has no place in a website spam prevention solution.

Well, if one plans, to get wet, just visit the OC Forum, it's mostly rainy in some spots ...

Indeed ;)

Anyway, what matters is that our solution is working quite well with regards to preventing spam or fake registrations coming through to our live sites.
Of course, spambots might become more intelligent in the future, its always a race in keeping up with our defences against them. We used to have captchas on our sites in the past. However, both the standard OpenCart captcha as well as the original Google reCaptcha don't offer much of a protection against the current generation of spambots anymore, so we gave up on captchas.
