I'm having some difficulty creating an htaccess mod_rewrite rule which would take the following URL:

http://www.mydomain.com/index.php?route ... 20CRITERIA

and make it something more along the lines of:

http://www.mydomain.com/search/SEARCH-CRITERIA

How can this be done?

SEO URLs are already turned on, and it doesn't work.

I didn't see that it was a search. Sorry. Mod rewrites should be able handle your request. Although I have very little experience with coding for them. A google search should point you in the right direction.
