Move index.php to the correct place (help)

Hi all thanks for the help.

I have been using the search but I am not sure what this is called.

My website is located at www.example.com/example/ and this brings up my home page.

I would like for it to be www.example.com and it go to my home page. I know I could move everything into www.example.com main folder but I want to keep everything in the example folder.

Hope this makes sense and thanks for any help.

Have you tried a simple Rewrite base in a .htaccess file?

Ok I tried that and I am now getting this error.

Ok I just went and moved all files that were in sub folder to main folder. I then updated the config files on the admin and main file. The website is working but when I go to the admin side and login. It lets me login and everything is working but at the top on the tap it says http 404 not found for some reason. Has anyone seen this?
