Maintenance still showing while logged in as admin

Just as the title says ... when I activate maintenance mode and click on store front I see the maintenance page instead of the normal front end ..
I tried everything ... from clearing cookies... changing browsers ... contacted hosting support (still waiting for a fix from them ... if any )
It used to work a couple of months back .. but now..nothing.
I`m using Shoppica theme and their support said its because of the session cookie (browser not knowing if I`m logged in as admin .. or something like that ) and to contact my hosting provider.
I`ve seen threads like mine but with no fix to this issue.
Anyone got a solution to this?
