Sales tax not being charged

We need sales tax to be charged to purchases in California.
I have set up a Geo Zone for California
A Tax Class (Taxable Goods) with Geo Zone California (8.75%)
All products have "Tax Class" defined as "Taxable Goods"
However, orders placed with a California address are not being charged sales tax. What could be the problem?

Is the Tax beeing applied to the products on your website correctly?

Does not seem to be as California residents are not charged sales tax

So no tax is applied?
I would check your tax settings, zones etc. to make sure that these are correct.

Under "Tax Class" I have "Taxable Goods" with a description of "Sales Tax" There is one Geo Zone which is "California"
Under Geo Zones I have "California" description "California"
Zone "California" is the default and has a code of "CA"
All products under "Tax Class" have "Taxable Goods" selected

Are you creating an account and logging in?
Is the tax order total module enabled?
